For the optional 'Hand Rubbed Paraffin Oil Coating' we use a completely safe, odorless, pure Paraffin oil in a 2 stage application process. The refined oil is for protecting sauna woods from allowing moisture to soak into wood fibers. Makes cleaning sauna easier, keeps wood clean by not allowing water and sweat to leave stains. Same type of non-toxic oil used on wood cutting blocks in food industry.
